Vintage Hat Rack

Hello Everyone! Yes I know, it's been quite some time since I last posted, I'm such a bad blogger. Honestly, I've just been really busy with things around the house, and we're getting things ready for our youngest son, Austin's, Graduation Open House next Saturday. This Monday is his Orientation at Oakland University, where he will be attending Collage in the Fall, and there is also a Parent's orientation that we will be attending.

What I wanted to show you all today is this wonderful Vintage hat rack that I purchased on Ebay not long ago. I've been on the hunt for one of these since seeing one that Stephanie, over at The Spanish Dahlia, had shown on her Facebook page. It needed a little bit of TLC, just a quick little spray paint on the metal parts with my favorite Heirloom White spray paint, and for the wooden base, I painted it my favorite soft pale shabby pink, and tah dah! I am so loving how it turned out! And my little vintage hat collection now has the perfect place to be displayed.

Here is a photo of Austin, myself, and my husband Brian, after the Graduation Ceremony. So proud of our baby boy!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by, always LOVE having you visit!! Have a lovely weekend my friends!!

Newest Treasures

Hello everyone! Today, I wanted to share with you some of my newest treasures I found over the past weekend.

First up is this wonderful, LARGE Vintage mirror we found at a tag sale we had stopped at while helping our oldest son move some things into his new apartment. Originally a shiny gold, I painted it my favorite shabby white, and love it! And it only cost $20

Next is this fab Vintage frame. It too was originally gold, but again, painted it my fav shabby white. This was found at a local thrift shoppe for just $8

I found this the other day at a local GW store, for just $8. Again, another item originally gold, but looking perfectly chic and shabby all painted white!

Lastly, I've had this sweet little table for a few months, but finally got around to painting it now that the weather was perfect for doing so. I chose to paint this a soft pale shabby pink, and it's perfect! I love the way the shelf on the bottom is designed for placing books in.

I'm hoping to do some more Thrift shopping this Saturday, and if I do, I'll be sure to post pics of any treasures that just happen to come home with me :)

Once again, linking up for Kerryanne's wonderful Blog Party, Shabbilicious Friday, so be sure to stop on over and see all the wonderful and shabby inspiration :)

Thanks so much for stopping by! Wishing all of you a wonderful Weekend!

Victorian Bed and Patchwork Pillows

A few days ago I finally got around to "cleaning" up my Antique Victorian bed. This bed is in my sewing room, and I use it as my "table", so to speak, and so it gets really messy and cluttered with all kinds of fabrics and trims and such. So, I've spruced it up a bit, with some pretty Rachel Ashwell Shabby Chic ruffled, rosey and pink pillow shams. The 2 large Euro pillows in the back I made using RASSC pink ruffled sheets. Love them!! The 3 large quilted patchwork pillows are all available for purchase on Ebay. Just click the link on my sidebar to take a peek at them if you like.

Here is a better close-up view of the Patchwork pillows. I just love creating these, and it's such a good way to use up the scraps of fabric that I have been accumulating over the years too! I have an old wicker laundry hamper that I keep some of my scraps in.

Hope everyone is enjoying this first day of May ~ It's a gorgeous day here in Michigan, and am loving this warm weather that seemed to take it's sweet time getting here, lol :)

Thanks so much for stopping by!! Have a great day, and rest of the week my friends!!
