Hello, see, I told you it wouldn't be another 3 years before I would post again, lol

Today, I thought I would post pictures of the items that I have currently available in my eBay.   There is a link in my sidebar to take you directly there.

There are a few sweet pillows, made with vintage hankies, laces and other embellishments, one of my pink Rose Wreath/Crowns, a couple of Ribbons & Roses Hangers, and 3 pretty in pink embellished hand towels.

Hope you'll take a look at my listings for more details on these items, and perhaps you'll find something sweet and special that you would love to have come to your home :)

Thank you so much for stopping by my little blog!

Hello Everyone!!

Yes,  I'm still here... and I know, it's been a loooooong time since I've posted (3 years!!!)
Can't believe it's been that long!!

And.....I've done a little updating with my blog too.   I'm no longer going by Shabby Cats and Roses, except with my eBay and email.  I'm now going with my name I use on Instagram, The Heminger Farmhouse.    There have been a TON  of changes made with our home since my last post.   No longer am I decorating with Shabby Chic style.   I'm now doing a more modern Farmhouse style, which is more fitting for our house, since the original part of our home is just over 100 years old.   I'm sharing with you a couple of photos that show how our home is now decorated.

This photo I'm using as my new header for my blog.  Love the whole vibe in this room, and like all the other rooms we've been redoing, it's done with greys, black, white, creams, and wood tones.

Below is our dining room.  Lots of changes done in here.  Carpet is gone to reveal the original hardwood floors.  That massive vintage stepback cabinet was a Facebook marketplace find.  I did paint it white, which looks great against the soft pale grey walls.

Below is our Master bedroom.   LOTS of changes in here!  Removed all the floral wallpaper, which was NOT fun to do.   This back wall we put shiplap on, and the other walls are painted grey.  Sold our big wood victorian style bed and purchased this black metal bed from Target.  One of my favorite things in this room is the Antiques sign above the bed .... found it at Micheals!

Here below is a photo of my sweet little Shih Tzu, Mitzy.  Yup, I love putting her in dresses, lol.   She doesn't quite like it too much though, so I don't leave them on her for very long.

Well, that's about all for this first post in 3 years.  I promise, it won't be another 3 years before I post again :)
Until Next time!!

Rose Crowns & French Graphic Pillows

Hello everyone!

Yes, I am still here, lol. Not as much as I was when I first starting this little blog of mine, but I do try to post something new every so often :)

Today, I'm sharing a few photos of some items that I currently have created and listed in my eBay (link in sidebar) I've been working on some beautiful French themed graphics that I have purchased, and also some truly lovely shabby chic style rose wreath/crowns made with gorgeous parchment roses. The second photo is one that has just recently sold, but the one in the first pic is still currently available as of this post.

The 2 graphic pillows are both currently available. I've been having so much fun creating with these stunning graphics! The colors on them are so rich and vibrant, and who doesn't love roses!! I've created and sold quite a few of these French rose themed graphic pillows, many of them going to a lovely lady in Italy.

Thought I would share this photo I took a few days ago of some beautiful peonies that I purchased at our local farmers market. Next to roses, these are my favorite flower!!

Well, time to get back to more sewing and creating!
Until next time sweet friends!
Wishing you all a lovely day!

Changes to my China Cabinet and Pretty Pillows listed in my Ebay

Hello everyone! I know it has been a few months since I have last posted anything new. To be honest, I am just not on blogger that much anymore. You will mostly find me now on Instagram. If you aren't a follower of mine yet, I hope that you would like to. My Id name on there is shabbycatsandroses.

I had been wanting to paint my china cabinet for quite a while now, and a few days ago I finally did just that! Originally I had thought of painting it pink, but I already have a vintage cabinet painted that color, so decided to do it in a bluish tone. I discovered this wonderful chalk type paint, at a much less cost than the Annie Sloan Chalk paint, and chose a color called "Vintage" It has this wonderful bluish grey sort of color. I am so happy at how it all turned out!

I would also like to share with you some wonderful pillows that I created that I currently have available in my eBay shoppe; This first one I just finished and listed today, and I just love the wonderful Linen fabric used in the center, with it's gorgeous large pink roses!

These next 2 sweet accent pillows have a wonderful vintage graphic that I printed onto fabric (NOT an iron on transfer) Love the pretty roses on these!!

I also want to share with you this fabulous Vintage Italian Tole Florentine lamp that I also have listed on eBay. You just don't find gorgeous pieces like this very often! I actually had found 2 of these, but I am keeping one for myself :) It has been rewired for your safety!

Thank you all so much for stopping by, after I have been MIA for a while, lol.
Hope you all have a lovely day!
Until next time sweet friends!

A Little of This...A Little of That

Hello everyone! Sorry it's been such a long time since my last post. My blog seems to be the last thing that I think of these days. You will find me mostly on Instagram, and sometimes on Facebook.

Thought I would share a couple of things with you today; first, I've started working on some sweet pretties for Valentines day. Below are photos of 2 items that I have finished and listed on eBay. If you would like to check them out, just click the link on my right sidebar to take you there.

Here is something that I am so super happy and proud to tell you about! Our youngest son, Austin, who is attending Oakland University in Rochester Michigan, is part of the Football club, which is only in it's second year of existence! Well, they finished this year undefeated, 9-0, and also won the Great Lakes Championship, and then went to Salem, Virginia, and won the NCFA NATIONAL Championship! We were unable to make the 12 hour drive there, but I did sit right in front of my computer and listened to the live audio stream of the game .... I was cheering and screaming right along, lol.
Below are a couple of photos that were taken after the game, and you can see Austin, number 42!
Way to go Oakland Grizzlies!!!

Thank you for stopping by and visiting! I'll TRY not to be so long in posting again
Until next time sweet friends!!

Our Dining Room Makeover

Hello everyone! I FINALLY am getting around to putting together this post to show you all our Dining Room makeover ~ Originally it had pink carpet and pink and white striped wallpaper. Now it has a more Shabby Chic look, which I love so much better! We removed the carpet to expose the original hardwood flooring; sanded it...sanded it again...and yet again, lol, then finally put down the stain and poly. Removed the pink and white striped wallpaper, and put up a Beadboard style wallpaper. We also sold the Oak dining room table, and had this fabulous farmhouse table custom made. The top is made from VERY old large barnwood planks. I painted it with Annie Sloan's Old white, but did a rub finish for the top so that you could still see some of the wood grain showing thru.

This sweet vintage cabinet was a Goodwill find for only $8. It was painted a cute baby blue, but I chose to paint it this fab pink color.

This very old farmer's wood caddy was found in an old fallen down barn by my husband, which he brought to me, and I gave it a makeover with Annie Sloan's Chalk paint in the Antoinette color.

I hope you enjoyed the photos of our dining room makeover!
Until next time sweet friends!
