As promised in my previous post, here are the photos of my Vintage farmhouse table-turned-coffee table makeover.
Here is the table as it was when I purchased it. Nice and chippy, like we all love, but it was just too chippy for my tastes, not to mention, a lot of the paint was literally falling off when you touched it. So, out to the Pole barn it went, and had hubby cut a few inches off the legs, and then used hubby's electric hand sander, and sanded away all the really loose paint. Then, out came my can of my very favorite soft shabby pale pink paint, and applied it on in a thin single layer, to give it a new look.....
.....and here it is! I am so in love with how it turned out! This is exactly what I had envisioned for a coffee table for our living room, and am over-the-moon thrilled with it!!
Love the little drawer on it.
The view from the couch.
And here is the top of the table. See how you can still see the outlines of the old paint! So very Shabby Chic!
Thanks for stopping by to see my Vintage Farmhouse table makeover! Hope you love it!!

Until next time sweet friends!

Treasures at the Allegan Antique Market
Hello everyone! As promised, I am showing you photos of the treasures I found at the Allegan Antique Market yesterday, as well as a sweet little Antique Mall in downtown Allegan.
This first photo shows all my sweet finds....
Found these 2 sweet vintage millinery floral hats....the blue one was found at the Market, and the cute little pink one at the Mall.
A fab vintage wallpaper covered box, a vintage Italian tole candlestick, and 2 pretty vintage linens were found at the market, and the beautiful Vintage floral barkcloth was found at the Mall.
A vintage tole can/wastebasket. Love this one with it's raised detailing!
Vintage Prayer picture....the roses are actually handpainted on the paper, and signed by the artist!
And my best and most favorite find at the Market was this wonderful shabby chippy vintage farmhouse table! This is what I was on the hunt for, and was super excited to come upon it. I've been wanting to find one of these to use as a coffee table, and it is just perfect....well, almost....I've given it a shabby chic makeover to it. Hubby cut down the legs to put it at a good height, and I've sanded it a bit to get rid of the really loose paint chips, and painted it. I'll show you the finished transformation of it in my next post, so stay tuned!
If you live in Michigan, or in a nearby neighboring state, I highly recommend going to the Allegan Antique Market! Their next date is August 25th, and the last one is September 29th. I won't be able to make the August one, but am hoping to attend the September show.
Until next time sweet friends !!

Wishing all my Blog friends a wonderful weekend. Going to the Allegan Antique Market tomorrow. My first time going and am super excited! I'm on the hunt for a shabby chipping table I can use as a coffee table. Preferably with some chippy pink paint. I'll be sure to post pics of any treasures that I find and bring home with me.

Some Vintage Treasures
Hello everyone! Today I thought I would share with you some of my recent vintage treasures that I have found.
First are these two fabulous Vintage tole cans/hampers. The one on the left I found on Etsy, and the other was purchased on Ebay. Aren't they gorgeous!
Next are these lovely set of 4 vintage Limoges Haviland plates that I found at a local Goodwill store. I just love the sweet little pink roses.
At another Goodwill store I found these vintage Haviland bowls. I got these for a steal!!
This is the sweetest little vintage pitcher that my husband bought me at a little Antique store. I just love the pretty roses!
This last photo is a couple of pretty Vintage OOAK pillows that I created using a Vintage pillowcase, that has the most gorgeous Lavender colored roses. Both of these are available for purchase on Ebay. You can click the link on my sidebar to take you there to see these and other sweet pretties that I currently have available :)
And finally, here is a photo my daughter took of our 2 Grandsons, Seth, who will be 2 in September, and his baby brother Derek. Love these guys sooo much !!

Introducing my newest Grandson!!
Hello everyone, got some very exciting news to share with all of you. I would like to introduce to you my newest Grandson, Derek Russell McKinlay! He was born July 12th, 2013, at 3:35 p.m. ~ He weighed in at 8 pounds 12 ounces, and 19 1/2 inches long! The photo below is of me holding him on Saturday, almost a day old!
It is so funny, he has dark hair, with a more dark complextion, whereas his older brother Seth is more fair skinned with strawberry blonde/reddish hair. Total opposites :)
