A Little of This...A Little of That

Hello everyone! Sorry it's been such a long time since my last post. My blog seems to be the last thing that I think of these days. You will find me mostly on Instagram, and sometimes on Facebook.

Thought I would share a couple of things with you today; first, I've started working on some sweet pretties for Valentines day. Below are photos of 2 items that I have finished and listed on eBay. If you would like to check them out, just click the link on my right sidebar to take you there.

Here is something that I am so super happy and proud to tell you about! Our youngest son, Austin, who is attending Oakland University in Rochester Michigan, is part of the Football club, which is only in it's second year of existence! Well, they finished this year undefeated, 9-0, and also won the Great Lakes Championship, and then went to Salem, Virginia, and won the NCFA NATIONAL Championship! We were unable to make the 12 hour drive there, but I did sit right in front of my computer and listened to the live audio stream of the game .... I was cheering and screaming right along, lol.
Below are a couple of photos that were taken after the game, and you can see Austin, number 42!
Way to go Oakland Grizzlies!!!

Thank you for stopping by and visiting! I'll TRY not to be so long in posting again
Until next time sweet friends!!

Our Dining Room Makeover

Hello everyone! I FINALLY am getting around to putting together this post to show you all our Dining Room makeover ~ Originally it had pink carpet and pink and white striped wallpaper. Now it has a more Shabby Chic look, which I love so much better! We removed the carpet to expose the original hardwood flooring; sanded it...sanded it again...and yet again, lol, then finally put down the stain and poly. Removed the pink and white striped wallpaper, and put up a Beadboard style wallpaper. We also sold the Oak dining room table, and had this fabulous farmhouse table custom made. The top is made from VERY old large barnwood planks. I painted it with Annie Sloan's Old white, but did a rub finish for the top so that you could still see some of the wood grain showing thru.

This sweet vintage cabinet was a Goodwill find for only $8. It was painted a cute baby blue, but I chose to paint it this fab pink color.

This very old farmer's wood caddy was found in an old fallen down barn by my husband, which he brought to me, and I gave it a makeover with Annie Sloan's Chalk paint in the Antoinette color.

I hope you enjoyed the photos of our dining room makeover!
Until next time sweet friends!

Items currently available in my eBay shoppe

Hello everyone! Just popping in to say hello, as it has been a while since my last post. Thought I would share a few photos of some new items that I have listed in my eBay. I've worked on some really shabby chic stockings for the upcoming Christmas holiday. LOVE creating this style, more simple! And more in keeping with how I am decorating my own home. I also have a fab wall rack that I created using vintage wood, metal hooks, and painted with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint, in the Antoinette color. Love this soft shabby shade of pink!

We finally have our Dining Room makeover all finished, and will do a post showing you pictures of it in a day or so.

Until next time sweet friends!!

Random-ness

Hello everyone! Yes, I am still around, just not so much here on my blog. You can usually find me more on Instagram, and occasionally on Facebook, lol.

Today I wanted to share with you a few random photos, featuring some new vintage treasures, and my latest OOAK pillows that I have listed currently on eBay.

First up is this Gorgeous pair of Vintage Italian Florentine tole lamps that I found at our local Goodwill a few weeks ago. I got them both for just $6, can you believe it !! I couldn't get them in my cart fast enough, lol. Goodwill now cuts off the plugs on all old lamps, but I would have had them rewired anyways, which I had my hubby do :)

I've been on the search for the perfect shabby vintage bench, and found this one at a local Antique mall. It was originally red, which you know That would just not do, lol, so I first painted it a soft pink, then this perfect shabby green, allowing the pink to show thru .... LOVE how it turned out!!

On Memorial Day, there is this HUGE Flea market just north of us, at Burley Park, and managed to find a few treasures to bring back home with me ...

Here is a little something I made for myself ... love this beautiful Jubilee fabric from Rachel Ashwell, and ordered a couple of yards of it to make this 26" Euro sham ... LOVE IT !

These next 2 photos of my newest pillows that I've created and listed on eBay, The link for my eBay shoppe is up near the top of my sidebar, if you would like to hop over and check them out...

Well, this is some of my Random-ness for you today, lol. We are currently working on re-doing our Dining Room, and hope to have things finished in a month or so, and of course, will post pics here for you all to see when it is finished... This room is taking longer than what it did for our Living room, as there is more work that has to be done to restore the original hardwood floors in it.

Until next time sweet friends !!

A Little Living Room Makeover

Hello everyone, I'm a few days late on doing this post, as I had planned to have it done and up this past weekend, but was so busy doing other things, that I just didn't have the time I needed to work on it. But now I do, and so here it is. When we purchased this home 21 years ago, I never knew that there were original hardwood floors underneath the carpet in our living and dining rooms. It wasn't until a couple of months ago, while in the basement, that I happened to look up and could see that above where the living room was, you could see the tongue-and-groove wood! Why did I not see or notice that before??? Anyways, I informed the husband that I wanted to remove the carpet and redo those gorgeous floors waiting to be seen, and about 2 weeks ago we went about doing just that. First, of course, we removed the carpet, then the 2 layers of padding, and there they were!! I was just so happy and excited to see them all cleaned and shined up! First, of course, I had to remove all those bazillion little staples from the padding, which took me an entire afternoon to do. The following morning, hubby rented a floor sander and proceeded to sand them down and clean them up. Next, a coat of oak stain was applied, and as soon as it was dried, hubby put down the first of 2 coats of poly to bring out the beautiful shine (we sanded the first coat before applying the second. And 3 days later we were able to put the furniture back in.

Below is the photo of the living room with the dark raspberry pink carpet.

This photo shows the floors before sanding.

And here is a photo taken after the 2nd coat of poly was applied.

These next 4 photos are with everything all put back into place :)

I am LOVING these gorgeous hardwood floors!! Bet ya can't tell, lol :)
In a month or so we will be working on doing this same thing in the Dining Room, and I can't wait!! I'll be sure to post photos once it is all finished.

Until next time sweet friends!!

Yes I am still here!

Hello everyone in Blogland! Yes, I am still here, just haven't done a new post in quite some time. We've been working on a new change in our living room the past several days, and will be sharing a few photos of that in my next post. I'm super excited about it and can't wait to share it with all of you. If you follow me either on Facebook or Instagram, then you already know what those changes are...shhh, don't tell!

Today, I thought I would share with you what I currently have available in my eBay shoppe. The link for it is over on my sidebar.

First up, I decided to give my hand at creating some beautiful rose crown/wreaths. These are so much fun to make, and you can display them just about anywhere or anyhow you choose. The first photo is the first one that I listed, and it has already been sold but the 2nd and 3rd photos are ones that are listed and available. They are made with beautiful large and small parchment roses.

These next 2 photos are a couple of my One-of-a-Kind pillows that are currently listed. Love the Vintage rose fabric used on this first one! Sadly, I used the last of this fabric ... hope to find more of it one day.

Love creating pillows with beautiful graphics! Many of the graphics I use are purchased from other very talented sellers, and some are ones that I have from my personal collection. This Graphic I found on Etsy. It is so sweet!

I'll be back soon with our newest Living room transformation!!
Until next time sweet friends!!

Vintage Bead Board Primitive Cabinet Makeover

Some time ago, while searching on Craigslist, I happened to see this add for a vintage Bead board Primitive cabinet. After several attempts at emailing the seller about it, and getting no response from them, I decided to have hubby (aka Brian), give it a shot.....and so he did, and wouldn't you know it, they responded back to him within 10 minutes!! What??, lol ! Anyways, he happened to be working over in that town that next day, so he went there, checked it out, and brought it home, Yeah!!

So the first 2 photos are how it originally looked. The outside wasn't bad, just needed a bit of cleaning and painting. The inside REALLY needed some cleaning and painting...did not like the red shelves.

And below are the photos of it's transformation! For the outside, I painted it a VERY soft pale shabby pink

The inside was painted a pretty light shabby blue, and each shelf area was treated to a different Vintage wallpaper for the back.

Here it is all filled with some of my pretty Shabby chic linens and special Vintage treasures :) I am so happy with how it turned out! Even better than what I was imagining it could be!

My next thing I am keeping an eye out for on Craigslist is just the right shabby farmhouse table.

Thanks so much for stopping by and visiting!
Until next time sweet friends !!
