My Mannequin's New Romantic Makeover

Good evening everyone! I don't know about the rest of you, but I am soooo glad that the weekend is finally here!! I can sleep in tomorrow, Whoot, Whoot!!

Many of you know Janet, of Shabbyfufu, she creates the most beautifully decorated Mannequins, and I've always loved them....well, today I decided to create that same look with my manny, and incorporate some of the elements that she uses to create the look of her manny's. I think she turned out really well, and I am pleased with how she now looks :)

Below is the photo of how my manny looked, which most of you have seen her before in a past post I have done of her...

And here she is now! Isn't she GORGEOUS!!

First, of course, I removed the vintage Gunne Sax dress that she was wearing (which is now hanging from a pegged shelf in our bedroom)...she already was designed with the pretty pink rose fabric for her body, and so no changes needed to be done with that...I applied lots of Vintage millinery roses and some newer roses too...I placed a vintage rose covered hat at the top, which works quite nicely, and the 2 Vintage Rhinestone pins were also placed on her, which she had been wearing on her previous outfit...

Around her waist I added this lovely vintage ruched trim in the palest of pinks, and simply tied it off in the back..

And this is a Vintage Crinoline skirt that is so full and flirty, and in the perfect romantic shade of pink! I won this skirt over on Ebay, and it arrived today, and of course, as soon as I opened the package I got right into doing her transformation, lol :)

So, what do you think of her new look? I'd say she's really stylin' :) I want to give a big THANK YOU to Janet for creating such beauties, and for inspiring all of us to bring a touch of romance into our homes.

It's getting kinda late here, and about time for me to "hit the hay", so I will wish all my bloggie friends a wonderful weekend!! Until next time!! :)

Treasures from the Antique Mall

Well, here in Michigan we've been hit with another major Winter storm, arrgghhhh!! It arrived here yesterday around 1 p.m., and continued snowing until the middle of the night. I literally had to shove the back door enough to be able to squeeze thru to get outside so I could shovel our back sidewalk, as the snow came up way past my knees! Just when we had most of the snow gone from the last snow storm, another one had to replace it all (darn Mother Nature, lol!)

Last Friday I went and visited my local Antique mall in a neighboring town, and found a couple of things that just HAD to come back home with me :)

First up is this Gorgeous Morgan Jones Chenille bedspread, in the PERFECT shade of pink! The above photo shows it beautifully displayed on my Victorian Bed ~ the photo below shows you a close-up of the bedspread...

...here's the tag...

next is this lovely vintage embroidered lace doily..

and a pair of Embroidered Tea towels...these will go in our Main bathroom...I'm planning to make some changes in there, opting to remove the wallpaper (which doesn't like to stay up on the walls too well), and painting the walls and installing new floor tiles. This endeavor won't happen 'till later in the Spring.

So, are there any Nascar fans out there? If so, did you watch the Daytona 500 Sunday? You bet I did!! I am very sad that my driver, Jeff Gordon, didn't win his 4th Daytona 500, but I am so stoked that Trevor Bayne did ~ this kid just turned 20 years old on Saturday, and this race was ONLY his 2nd Cup race; FIRST time in the 500, and he WINS IT!! I was literally off my chair, yelling at the T.V., telling him "block those guys behind you!!" and "OH MY GOD, he's going to win this thing!!" My son Austin was like "Geez Mom, calm down", LOL :) Yes, I can really get totally into the race :) I really wish that Trevor Bayne was running a full Cup schedule, as it would be so fun to watch and see how he does, but he's committed himself to run full time in the Nationwide serious, but he will be doing about 17 Cup races. Can ya tell that I am sooo excited to have Nascar racing back!! LOL :)

Okay, that's about it for todays post ~ Wishing everyone a wonderful Week ahead! Until next time sweet friends :)

Austin's Camaro

Hi everyone! Since today was a nice sunny day, I decided to take some pictures of Austin's Camaro that I told you about in yesterdays post. It's almost street legal...we just put Insurance on it today, but I haven't gotten plates for it yet, as I want to wait until I know for sure that the weather is going to be nice and DRY enough for it to be out on the road. There are also a couple of things that need to be done to the car yet as well, but they are minor things, so won't take long to do.

And here is Austin standing next to his "Pride and Joy", LOL :)

I also visited my local antique mall, and found a couple of things there, but I will do a post about those at a later time :)

Until next time sweet blogging friends!!

Goodwill Treasures for Me

Hello again everyone! I just got back home a few moments ago from doing the weekly grocery shopping, and of course, stopping at one of my local Goodwill stores. I found 3 wonderful items that were just begging for me to take them home with me, lol :) Below is a photo of those 3 fabulous items...

First up is this fabulous vintage mirror ~ the frame is made of a VERY heavy metal, and love the details on it. Even though it is already painted white, it does need to be spruced up, which I will do when more spring-like weather gets here in Michigan.

Below is a close-up of the details of the frame....this cost just $3.00!

Next up is this lampshade....love the shape of it, and am looking forward to giving it a make-over with some pretty fabric & trims...cost of the shade was also $3.00...

And lastly is this wonderful Vintage filigree picture frame...this will be painted white like the others frames I have in this style...what I love most about these filigree frames is that they remind me of pretty lace...the cost..$1.00

My youngest son, Austin, who will be 16 in May, is a very "happy camper" so to speak, as we were able to find a car that he loves and wanted to buy...it's a 1988 Camaro Convertible...the entire outside of the car has been redone and given a custom paint job (done in Iroc Blue); new convertible top; has a 350 engine with a 4-barrel holly carberator (it sounds sweet!!), new tires and sporty rims. This car is SMOKIN' hot! When the weather is nice I will take some pictures of it for you all to drool over, lol :) And since Austin doesn't have his license yet, that means I will be able to drive it too, WOO HOO!! I've been joking around with him, telling him I'm going to go Bah Hahing around with it....he's not liking that, lol :) Right now it's sitting in our Pole Barn, until the winter weather it done with.

Well ladies, time for me to get busy and get some house work done; got some laundry calling my name...oh how I wish it would just shut up, LOL :) So until next time :) Hope everyone has a terrific upcoming weekend!

Hello everyone! Today is a nice sunny day here in Michigan, but the temps' are below freezing....but the next couple of days the temperatures are going to get near 50 degrees!! Woo Hoo, Heat wave, LOL :) We're also suppose to get some rain as well, but at least that will help melt away all this snow we have, so I'll take it!

And my favorite driver, #24 Jeff Gordon, will be starting in the front row for the Daytona 500!! So I'm REALLY excited about that :) I Can not wait until Sunday!! GO JEFF!!!

First Baby Picture of My Soon-to-be-Grandchild

Well, I just got done watching the Budweiser Shootout tonight, which was won by Kurt Busch :( I was sooo hoping that my guy, Jeff Gordon could win it, but alas, it was not to be...now it's on to the next race, The Daytona 500, and hopefully he'll get his 4th win of that race won (fingers, toes, etc... crossed)

Anyhoo, I wanted to show you my soon to be first Grandchild's very first picture...my daughter had her doctor's appointment this past Thursday, and they did an Ultrasound, and below is a photo of him/her...the little tyke is upside down, so the head is towards the bottom. This is at 10 1/2 weeks along. They have come up with names...Sophia if it's a girl, and Seth if it's a boy. I think those are very nice names :) She'll have another Ultrasound done at about 20 weeks or so along, and I can't wait to see that photo!

And just a reminder that there is only 2 more days left for my VALENTINESPECIAL in my Etsy shoppe, to receive 10% off your purchase.

Lastly, I see that I have reached 400 followers, WOW!!! Thank you so much everyone!! It truly means so much to me....I'll be celebrating my 1 year Blog Anniversary on March 10th, so I'm thinking of having a Giveaway to say Thank You. That will give me some time to think about what I would like to include for this special Giveaway, so stay tuned :)

Until next time sweet bloggie friends!!!

10% Off all Items in My Etsy Store!

Hello Everyone! I hope all of you have survived the Blizzard of 2011 ~ We certainly got a ton of snow here in Michigan!! Schools were closed yesterday, and again today, to give the County plow trucks time to clear away all the side roads. Then yesterday our Furnace decided to act up...only keeping the temps in here at about 62 degrees! We did manage to get someone out here to find out what was wrong. Sears wasn't going to send anyone until FRIDAY!! Can you believe that!! Luckily hubby knows someone who installs furnaces and air conditioners, so he came out that same afternoon and got it all fixed. Seems that the guy from Sears who installed this furnace in October of '09 didn't attach a hose on good enough and it came off!! Which was why it wasn't heating up long enough ~ I advise you all to NOT purchase anything from Sears, as they are not reliable, or dependable!

Anyways, the reason for this post today is that I wanted to let you all know that I am having a special on all my items in my Etsy Store ~ You will receive 10% off your order when you use Coupon Code: VALENTINESPECIAL at the checkout (Be sure to type it in exactly like that) This special will run until Valentines Day. I just added a couple more of my pretty pillows today, so I hope you will take some time and check it out :)

Until next time sweet bloggie friends!!
